Smallmouth fishing has been in full swing the past couple weeks! We experienced some high water last week that had the fish in a bit of a funky mood. Water levels have dropped since and fishing has had some better consistency the past few days. Water clarity in the upper sections by croton has been pretty clear. As you make your way into the lower sections the water starts to hold a good tea color stain. Fishing topwater baits in the morning hours has been productive. If the topwater bite dies, going subsurface fishing streamers or crank baits in yellow/pink, chartreus and white combinations have been producing. Since the water has dropped, fishing cray fish along the bottom has presented its opportunities.
